M+ METHOD℠ Benefits
We are a new breed of certified movement educators who integrate the best of the traditional Pilates Method with twenty plus dance, exercise, fitness techniques and movement healing traditions. We call this the M+ METHOD℠ of Postural/Gestural Analysis and Regenerative Balance. We evaluate, educate, and guide people to heal symptoms of degeneration, injury, immobility, and neurological dysfunction. We also teach clients how to enhance their physical comfort and performance in daily living, as well as in sports and other physical endeavors.
Our evaluation procedure incorporates "seeing" or visually assessing the dysfunctional or misaligned patterns in the client's body both passively and kinetically on the Pilates equipment. We identify poor postural and muscular habits throughout the entire body in anatomical sections. In weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing positions, we analyze the client's strength and flexibility and the amount of time, force, and speed it takes to execute the movement.
We then investigate the three-dimensional physiological reason why there is pain or compensation occurring in the body by by-passing the symptoms and focusing directly on the cause. To organize and simplify the process, we diagram the misalignments on a body chart to visually explain to the client specifically what muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves need to be stretched, strengthened, balanced, "unlocked", "un-rotated", lengthened, toned, "un-held", and/or neurologically "woken up" and why this detailed and precise program is so beneficial to maximizing a client's full body potential.
This individualized program uses the M+ METHOD℠ of movement to teach the client how to guide their own body by reeducating the conscious part of the brain to re-pattern and regenerate the compensating musculoskeletal system in everyday motion, on the Pilates equipment, on an original Astin board, with a ballet barre, and on sports specific equipment.
M+ METHOD℠ Benefits: Eliminates pain; prevents injury, regenerates tissue, ligaments, tendons, and nerves; enhances overall performance; improves balance, coordination, flexibility and strength; rehabilitates (pre/post surgery and trauma); improves stamina and posture; educates, tones and shapes muscles; improves cardio fitness, and de-stresses the body (often the mind as well!)
